William (Bill) O. Sagoonik, Jr., 57, of Seguin, TX, passed away unexpectedly on February 8, 2024. He was born on November 11, 1966, in Hawaii to Anna C. Legzdin and William O. Sagoonik, Sr. He attended Judson High School in San Antonio graduating in 1983. Bill lived in the San Antonio area where he met Kathryn Maslyk. The two joined as spouses on June 13, 2008. Later that year they formed KnB Solutions, LLC, a consulting company. Bill enjoyed spending time outdoors with friends and family, especially hunting on “The Property” and fishing. When not outdoors, he was a fan of watching football and playing pool. He loved muscle cars and took pleasure in driving them. He was kind to animals, and loved his dog of 17 years, Sparky, and his cat, Kingsford, of four years. He had a great sense of humor and a wonderful laugh that will be greatly missed. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Kathryn; mother, Anna C. Doane; his stepson Gene (Jen) Vogelman; his stepbrother Samuel Ohiaukulani Mergele and daughters Zeeva, Zada, and Zoey; his uncle August (Holly) Kama; his aunt Lottie (“Skip” Alvin Sr.) Wilson, and cousin Alvin (Brey) Wilson, Jr., and their sons Kane and Michael (Naomi) Wilson, Diana (Gully) Wilson; cousin Sheri (Nate) Viernes and daughter Malia; cousin Tanya (Martin) Valenzuela and children Kali, Kylee, and Makenan; cousin Edith (Raymond) Navarro; brothers-in law Paul (Ann) Maslyk, Steven Maslyk, and Greg Maslyk, and mother-in-law Barbara Maslyk; and many other family members. He was predeceased by his father and stepfather Charles Edward Mergele, his grandparents Hoover (Caroline Legzdin) Kama, and his father-in-law, Edward G. Maslyk. Bill leaves behind numerous friends including James Samson and stepson Andrew McClish; Rick Shelley; Mike (Kris) Shelley; Jose (Sandra) Reyna and family; Bill (Darlene) Longtin; Juan (Melinda) Cruz; John (Michelle) Moore and family; Stella (Nia) Feomaia; Amber Megele; Kris (Adrianne Franscini) Marcum and daughter Lucia; Hollis (Marise) Grizzard; Roland (Andi) Owen; Diane Rutherford; Marcus Garza; Billy Newberg and Chris Newberg; and Chaplain Rick, as well as business associates Andy Mathews and Rob Hudson. No service is planned. A celebration of Bill’s life is planned for the spring and family and friends will be notified.
