Tony J. Barraza, 49, passed away on Monday, October 11, 2021 in San Antonio, TX.
Tony was born on December 19, 1971 in Scott City, KS to Tony and Patricia (Moffet) Barraza. He attended Lexington High School in Lexington, NE before enlisting in the U.S. Army. Tony met the love of his life Quinn (Oppenheimer) Barraza in Lawrence, KS and they married on September 6, 1998. They moved to San Antonio, TX, and raised two sons, Marcus and Vercin. Tony earned a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2006. He loved helping people and spent most of his career working for several nonprofits, using his skills and experience to serve those in need in his community. Tony was an avid pop-culture enthusiast and loved to share music, movies, anime, and video games with his sons. He was a devoted Pittsburg Steelers and Metallica fan.
Tony was preceded in death by his father, Tony Barraza. He is survived by his wife Quinn, his two sons Marcus and Vercin, his sisters Ginny Barraza of Wichita, KS, and Stephanie Barraza of Harland, KY, as well as a large and loving family of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, many cousins, and even more friends. His mother followed him in death on October 12, 2021.
Tony will be buried with full military honors at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, TX on November 19, 2021. Due to limited seating, the burial will be a private service for family and close friends.
