Patrick "PJ" Michael Smith Jr.

Patrick “PJ” Michael Smith, Jr was born on March 19 th , 1978, on Luke Air Force Base in Glendale, Arizona
to Patrick Smith and Diane West. The oldest of their three children, Pat took his role as big brother
seriously and that protective instinct carried him through the rest of his life and into the United States
Marine Corp where he served with pride and honor. Whether it was one of his children, a fellow solider,
or a stranger on the street, PJ was always the first to step up and help someone. He had a giving heart, a
wise soul, and a laugh that enveloped you like a warm hug. Pat was so proud of his family, particularly
his children: Jason Liparoto, Jay Liparoto-Smith, and Josh Smith and Elora, Sonny, and Josiah who he
shared with his beloved Amanda. PJ was a spontaneous, fun loving, gentle soul and he will be deeply
missed by all who knew him. A memorial service will be held at 9:00 am on June 28 th at Ft. Sam Houston.
