Norma Jean Harrison

Norma Jean (Jeannie) Harrison of Houston, TX and San Marcos, TX was born on October 14, 1931 and passed away on October 18, 2021 in San Marcos.  Norma was preceded in death by her father, James Butler Suggs and her mother Donna Jeanne Dorough Suggs, her grandmother Elizabeth Anne Dorough, and her aunt Clara Dorough Knapp.  She was also preceded in death by the love of her life her husband William (Bill) Thomas Harrison (2005).

Norma is survived by her three daughters, Sue Ann Harrison-Floyd (Steve) of San Marcos, Debbie Atkinson (Jim) of Stephenville, Jan McHenry (Marty) of Sugar Land, her eight beautiful grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.

Norma loved her family more than anything.  Her next love was being in nature with her beautiful flowers, bird watching, or just discovering a unique rock that she would add to her rock garden.  She put creativity in everything that she did from gardening, cooking, and her special gifts to the kids.  She had empathy for the lost and hungry animals that came around and would feed and care for them.  A dog named Tiffy, a cat named Kitty, and even a little turtle named Herbie became part of the family.

She will be greatly missed for teaching us, loving us, and being in our lives.

As per her wishes there will not be a funeral service, viewing, or visitation.  The family will be holding a private service at her beloved river house in Hunt sometime in the future.  The family requests sending any donations to Cure Alzheimer’s Fund at  https://curealz.org/
