It is with a heavy heart that our family is announcing the passing of an amazing, wonderful and caring husband, father and grandfather. Mario passed away peacefully on the morning of November 19, 2022, at his home surrounded by loved ones, after a brief fight with cancer.

Mario was born March 20th, 1955 in Wichita, Kansas to his parents Jesus and Erlinda Moreno. Mario was the 6th of 13 children.

Mario was married to Shelly Santos in June of 1998, they were married for 24 years.

Mario grew up in Wichita, Kansas until 1992 when he moved to Austin, Texas. He moved to Kyle, Texas in 1998 where he resided with his wife and children.

Mario Graduated from North High School  in 1973. Mario was a member of the Drum Corps; Wichita for many years, he played trumpet and always said it was one of the best times of his life. He made many friends whom he still was friends with.

Mario Worked as a printer for Southside Printing for 12 years, he was also employed by UPS as a loader for 7 years. He enjoyed fishing, music, baseball, football, his children but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Mario was a baseball Umpire for several years in and around the Austin area.

Mario is survived by his wife Shelly Santos, his 4 sons Mario J Moreno and his wife Maggie, Joseph E Flores and his wife Desiree, Joshua R Santos and his wife Jessica and Jason R Santos and his partner Allison; 8 Grandchildren Lindan Flores, Gavin Santos, Sylvia Santos, Benson Moreno, Jossalyn Moreno, Olivia Guzman, Benji Guzman and Austin Santos; his granddaughter, Alayah Santos, was born 2 days after his passing. He is also survived by his brothers Steve Moreno, Mike Moreno and his wife Marcy, Robert Moreno and his wife Deborah, Bill Moreno and his wife Trinea, George Moreno and his wife Tina, and Armando Moreno and his partner Sherri; sisters Margaret Moreno, Linda Adams, Olga Garcia and Lisa Hernandez and her husband Paul and one sister-in-law Melissa Davidson. Mario had many nieces, nephews, cousins along with other family and fiends.

Mario is preceded in death by his parents Jesus and Erlinda, and 2 brothers Jesus Moreno and Ron Moreno.

The family of Mario Moreno will have a Celebration of Life, at which a date will be chosen at a later time, and will let all family know.
