Lorine Christie Obituary

Lorine Elizabeth Christie, age 83, was surrounded by her loved ones as she passed away peacefully at her home in San Antonio, Texas on November 3, 2018.

Lorine “Lori” was born in Houston, Texas on October 22, 1935. She is preceded in death by her father Wilbur Dedman, mother Florine H. Inman and Vernon Maurice Inman (step-father), sister Lorice H. White, sons Jesse M. Blackman, Chris C. Bunch, Robert C. Bunch, daughters Melinda Harris and Suzanne Fennell and four step-siblings.

She is survived by her children, Brenda Linan -Soto (Nate) and Floyd Blackman (Susie), her brother Henry W. Dedman (Mickey), sixteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, one niece and three nephews.

Lori enjoyed spending time with her family sharing childhood memories, talking about recent events or just cracking jokes. She had a great sense of humor;  a quality friends and family were fond of. Lori was an avid reader and had a great appreciation for first addition books. She also enjoyed watching biographies, KLRU and the travel channel. She’d always say watching the travel channel was her way of traveling the world.  When she wasn’t reading or watching one of her favorite channels, you could find her working crossword puzzles or putting a puzzle together while listening to her favorite music. She enjoyed the music of the Three Tenors, Liberace, Queen, Rod Stewart, Jerry Lee Lewis, Mel Tillis and Freddie Fender just to name a few.

Lori was a hard-working woman that took great pride in her work and did everything with a smile on her beautiful face.  She was kind, loving, understanding and always ready to listen and help when anyone needed her. She gave the best advice and in such a genuine and loving way.  Lori was an amazing woman and deeply loved by her family and close friends.  She fought long and hard all her life, in the end came out a true champ and inspiration to those of  that loved her. The loss of her has left a ginormous void in our lives and a hole in our hearts, but we know she is in a better place now watching over us.

Lorine Elizabeth Christie didn’t pass away, she passed on. On to the next chapter of her eternal life, where she has a new path of watching over her babies on earth, all while loving on her babies that were awaiting her arrival in heaven. She’s at peace, knowing she truly has finally found her place, where she’s alongside all of her loved ones at the same time. She’s not just here & she’s not just there…she is spiritually everywhere ❤️
