Keith Vorpahl Obituary

Anyone that knew Keith\Opop\Uncle Fatty would say that he was one to do things in his own unique way, you knew when he entered the room. He was born to Gertrude and Kermit Vorpahl on April 20th, 1956, He has Joined his Mother, Father and Sister Patti Lou in Heaven who had been waiting for him. He was one of 8 children. Growing up, Keith enjoyed playing sports, bowling and tossing news papers in his spare time. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Teran, 3 children sons Steven (wife Tina), Kenneth (wife Melanie) and daughter Amanda Fleury (husband Lenny) grandkids Colton (fiancee Ashleigh), Dylan, Raegan, Tristan and Aerris, his brothers Richard, Kenneth and Kevin, sisters Linda, Sylvia and Gloria, 2 step brothers Edward and Leslie, many nieces and nephews. Keith worked at the Austin American Statesman for 30 plus years before retiring. He went on to continue his career as a driver for Transdev working as a bus driver for Texas State University. He always enjoyed new challenges, in the early 2000’s, he obtained a 1st Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do/Hapkido. Keith enjoyed the water and became a Master Scuba Diver. Any new hobby he came across he would experience it to the fullest potential possible. He was passionate about Bobcat football and enjoyed taking the referees to the home games enjoying the game with his wife. They always enjoyed taking photos with BoCo the Mascot. You could find Keith in his free time working out in his shop building something out of wood whether it be yard art, patio funiture or on his big deck that he enjoyed spending time on with his family enjoying a good BBQ (including his burnt chicken) depending on which son you ask they would say they had the best BBQ for the family to enjoy. Keith would look forward to his annual summer trips to the beach with his brothers and sisters. When ever he got the chance you could find him out on the water fishing. He found a love for photography that he went on to share with his daughter. He was never one to back down from giving you his opinion and letting you know his stance, but you always knew that what he did was out of love. He worked long hours to take care of his family and to enjoy the smaller things out of life. Even after being diagnosed with cancer he didn't let it slow him down he continued to live life to the fullest. On December 25th, 2023 he gained his angels wings being reunited with his parents and sister.
