Joan Elleane Rogers began her journey on January 6, 1932. She was born in Parkersburg, West Virginia. She passed from this earth and went to her heavenly home on July 29, 2020 in Kyle, Texas at the age of 88.
Joan was a hairdresser and later taught cosmetology. She loved to crotchet and painting including facial portraits. She enjoyed cooking and baking and was known for her homemade bread and pies. She loved her church and being with family and friends.
Joan married Charles Rogers October 9, 1993 in Austin, Texas. They both loved to travel. Their favorite trip was driving to Alaska. Between the two of them they had eight children.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents Lewis (Bud) Howard Grogan and Minnie Louise Grogan. Her husband Gerald Smith Daughtery and they were married December 28, 1952. Her brother Gene Elden Grogan and her son Ronald Gene Daughtery.
Joan is survived by her husband Charles Rogers, her children David Daughtery (Karen), Mike Daughtery (Kim), Pam Miller (Denny), Keith Daughtery (Cheryl),Daughter in law, Shelly Daughtery and stepchildren Jackie Roper, Wayne Rogers (Laura) and John Rogers. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Joan’s memorial will be held at her church GT in Austin, TX at 2700 Northland Drive on August 22 at 11am Pastor Shoeber presiding.
