Felix Cantu Obituary

Felix Cantu 69, of New Braunfels, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2020, in New Braunfels. Born on July 24, 1951, in Hildago he was the son of the late Manuel Cantu and the late Francisca Cantu.

Felix is survived by his loving wife Raquel Morales Cantu; children, Leslie Cantu, Brian Cantu, and Justin Cantu; his 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Felix was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps where he retired as First Sergeant. Felix was proud to serve his country! Felix loved working, and besides his love for his family, it’s what kept him active and going. When he left the military, Felix remained busy as an entrepreneur of a personal 18 wheeler trucking company where he would later retire in 2014.

Although retired, Felix kept busy with his personal “Me Time” including Friday date nights at “Chilli’s, keeping up to date with all of his favorite College football, NFL Texas teams (Go Cowboys!), caring for his 5 dogs, traveling, and taking vacations to Cancun, Mexico, Hawaii, Israel, and across the US state lines with his wife. Felix was finally able to enjoy retirement to the fullest.

Although Felix was an introvert his heart was an extrovert soul. He had a deep passion for his Tejano/oldies music, his family, friends, and his faith in God.

Our family would like to thank the staff of Christus Santa Rosa Hospital for the loving care that they gave to Felix.

All services are private and a celebration of Felix’s life will be held at a later time due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the health and safety of friends and family.
