Edward Dunn Obituary

Edward Vincent Dunn, 71, passed away peacefully of heart failure on July 8, 2020 after a year-long battle with pancreatic cancer.

Ed is survived by his loving wife of 44 years Linda, and his sons Ryan with wife Elizabeth and Jarred with wife Alison. He is also survived by his adoring grandchildren David, Connelly, Anne, and Kellan; brother Joseph; sisters Kathy and Roseanne; many nieces and nephews; and a large extended family with whom Ed remained close despite large distances between them. Ed was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Nena.

Ed was born November 16, 1948 in Syracuse, NY, into a large Irish-Italian family. Ed delighted in telling stories about his childhood in NY, especially the hijinks that he, his brother, and neighborhood friends often got into. Ed continued his legacy of hijinks throughout his life and often regaled friends and family with stories that continue to fill the room with laughter today.

After proudly serving in the Air Force, Ed moved to Dallas, Texas, and began working for Southwestern Bell where he met the love of his life Linda Flach Dunn. After marrying Linda in 1976, they chose to raise their sons in the Dallas area, making life-long friends who continue to be a source of strength and light to Linda, Ryan, and Jarred. Ed easily made friends no matter where he lived, which included Arizona and Central Texas later in their lives together.

A devout Christian, we take comfort knowing he is with the Lord now and is no longer in pain. He is no doubt looking down upon us now as we reminisce about the joy and laughter he brought so many.

Due to the current situation with Covid-19, a memorial service has not been planned. Once friends and family can travel safely, we will share details for a celebration of his life.  We welcome your prayers, and would love to hear stories of Ed.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ed’s memory to The James Bruner TK Ranch, an organization very close to Ed’s heart:
