Earl Clarence Hunter was born 73 years ago to Robert L. and Margie Hunter in
Brownsville, TX in the Rio Grande Valley. He had a very adventurous life growing up hunting,
fishing, and going to Boca Chica Beach regularly since it was just a few miles from his childhood
home.
He was the oldest of four children who all continue to remain extremely close. Earl’s
adventures also included traveling to the Rain Forest at Rancho Cielo in Mexico, where his
family built a secluded and magical cabin in the top of the mountains.
Earl attended St. Joe’s Catholic School in Brownsville and then went on to Southmost
College. Later he went to the University of Texas in Austin where he received his dental
technician's certification and went on to own his own dental lab in San Antonio called the Tooth
Studio.
His hobbies were fishing, hunting, gourmet cooking, and gardening. He also loved
watching and identifying colorful birds. He was a strong Christian who visited with Jesus every
day. His joy was reading his Jesus Calling book every morning!
He is survived by his wife Linda Collard Hunter, his mother Margie, brother Lee and his
wife Donna, his sister Jessie Wade and her husband Jerry, and his sister Lynn Hunter. He has
two grown daughters, Chelsea Aydelot and husband Donavan, and Jill Hunter, all who live in
Colorado. He has numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom he dearly loved.
Earl was a truly kind and generous gentleman with old-school ways.
He never met a stranger and would do anything to help anyone. There was not a day that went by that he did
not put on his distinctive bandanna necktie before he left the house.
Some friends called him a Valley cat because he beat cancer so many times and they
felt he had at least nine lives. He is in heaven now and feeling no pain. We love you, our dear
sweet Early!
Rest in Peace.
