I cried when you passed away, I still cry today. Although I loved you dearly, I couldn’t make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest. God broke my heart to prove to me he only takes the best.

Debbie G. Reyes, age 53, passed away on February 19, 2021 with her loved ones by her side. Debbie was born in Austin, Texas to late John V. Reyes and Eva G. Gonzales.
Debbie is survived by her partner Renee Zamora of 23 years and her four children; Vanessa Gonzales (Jose); Jesse Ray Gonzales; John David Serna (Jennifer); Christopher Serna; one step-son AJ Lopez III. Her brothers Daniel G. Reyes; Thomas G. Reyes (Nora); and sister Christine G. Reyes (Elizabeth); 17 grandchildren TonyRay, Enrik, Marissa, Arnold, Isaiah, Jose, Aaron, Viviana, Arabella, Sierra, Jayden, Julian, Kaydence, Alyssa, Dezzirae, Arabella, Jesseray Jr., Chloe. Two great-grandchildren and nephews, nieces, cousins and many friends. Also leaves behind her four-legged beloved “babies” Damien, Harley, Carter and Woody.
Debbie is preceded in death by her father John V. Reyes; surviving mother Eva G. Gonzales and step-father Clemente Gonzales of Austin.
Debbie enjoyed life, food, music, movies, games, traveling, couponing, camping, Luling Watermelon Thump, fiestas, buying lots of stuff but especially loved Friday movie nights with her grandchildren. Debbie had a heart of gold and had many cousins, nieces, nephews and great friends because of her caring, loving, giving personality.
No matter how sick she would get she was a fighter. There was no quit in Debbie. Through her we know what resilience and perseverance truly looked like. Just because she is no longer with us doesn’t mean she lost the fight.
