Brandi Kay (Schafer) Sorensen was born in Lubbock, Tx. on November 6, 1965 and on September 18, 2020 she leI her earthly family, aIer a long baKle with her health, to join her heavenly family. We will miss her greatly. “As Brandi’s mother, I prayed each night for God to help heal Brandi’s body so she could again enjoy life to the fullest. As His will, He must not of had a choice but to take her and make her whole again. We love you Brandi; walk freely among the clouds and angels.” -Jackie Schafer Brandi led a full and acXve life while she was with us. Her family was very important to her and she always placed them first. She loved her dogs (wiener dogs), Ma[ and Abigail. They were company to her. Brandi loved the beach and spent many hours there on vacaXon with her family and her dogs. She was a life member of the United Methodist Church. When she worked, her job was very important to her unXl she could no longer work due to her health. Brandi worked in property management in AusXn as well as Hobbs, NM with a short sXnt working at her local news paper. She took pride in a job well done. She had many friends throughout Texas and New Mexico. She was loyal to her friends. Brandi was a true patriot and loved her country. She loved poliXcs and served as a delegate to the State Republican ConvenXon. She believed it was her civic duty to serve as a delegate. She loved the Dallas Cowboys and OH MY, she loved the show ‘Survivor,’ having never missed an episode. Brandi was also a fan of the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis. Her favorite Elvis music was his Gospel music. Brandi was preceded in death by her grandparents J.D. and Bobbie Spence and Lynn and Rotha Lee Schafer. She was also preceded by her uncle Leslie Spence, uncle Chester Norman Schafer, her cousin Donald Norman Schafer and her aunt Magaret Maguire. She was also preceded in death by her favorite, early morning coffee buddy, her father-in-law Dale Sorensen. She is survived by her husband of almost 29 years, Anthony (Tony) Sorensen of San Marcos, Tx., her son Ryan of San Marcos, Tx., her daughter Kathryn and fiancée Daniel Minor of Kyle, Tx., her father and mother Don and Jackie Schafer of San Marcos, Tx., her brother and wife Don and Breanne Schafer of Lockhart, Tx., her uncle and aunt Merle and Karen Smith of Sweetwater, Tx., her uncle and aunt John and Ramona Spence of Lubbock, Tx., her mother-in-law Gail Sorensen of New Braunfels, Tx., brother-in-law Chip Sorensen of New Braunfels, Tx., her niece Kara Schafer of AusXn, Tx., her nephew and wife Koby and Alexandra Schafer of Maxwell, Tx., her niece Kymmra Schafer of Lockhart, Tx., her niece Kelsie Schafer of Lockhart, Tx., her niece Deanna Ashley Sorensen-ScoK and husband Anthony John ScoK of San Angelo, Tx., her cousin Dezra Fain Youngblood of Brock, Tx., her cousin Robert Lynn Schafer of Ft Worth, Tx,. Also Lynn Maguire of Las Cruces, NM, and cousins Trinna Thompson, Tracey Hymer and Jay Freeman. In lieu of flowers, donaXons can be made to St. Judes at www.stjude.org, Brandi’s favorite charity.
