Born in Lima, Peru on Christmas Day of 1953, Alicia was instantly born as a light of love to her family & friends . Alicia grew up with her large family in Barranco, often caring for her younger siblings. Alicia finished High school in Peru at Colegio Mercedes Indacochea de Barranco in 1971 & worked for many years as a phone operator for the Compania Telefonica de Peru.

Alicia moved to the United States with her only daughter in 1989 with hopes of offering a safe & strong future.  Bravely she left her entire family in Peru and began a brand new journey in Austin, Texas as a single mother. Alicia always worked hard, made friends fast and truly did her best to offer her daughter a happy childhood, of which she did. Alicia received her United States citizenship in 2009.

Friends & family would describe Alicia, “Ali” as a sweet, loving, joyful women; full of love & light! Alicia will be remembered for loving to turn up her salsa music, dancing, she cherished Peruvian cuisine, loved to knit, loved to walk the neighborhood and exercise in the pool during the summer months. Alicia loved taking care of her grandchildren the most and we will all miss her special Peruvian dishes.  Most importantly Alicia made it a point to stay connected to friends & family, she LOVED talking in the phone and was absolutely a social butterfly.

Alicia was preceded in death by her Mother, Juana Llerena de Rueda & Father, Elisero Rueda. She is survived by her daughter Juana Clark and husband Justin Clark; grandchildren Jaidyn & Jovan Clark; and siblings Miguel, David, Gustavo, Jorge, Yolanda, Esther & Carmen de Rosa.
