Edwin Holly, better known as Ed, lived a full life. He was born on January 28, 1931 in Newark New Jersey, but grew up in Manhattan.
Ed's thirst for adventure started early and his first foray was leaving home, at 16, to follow his exchange student heartthrob back to her home county of Norway.
Not knowing that commercial vessels will travel to lands not corresponding to the flags on their mast, Ed began his first international trip to Venezuela as a deckhand on a Norwegian flagged cargo ship...he never made it to Norway.
Ed was a Navy, Air Force and National Guard veteran and his international travel grew to include postings in Japan and throughout the USA. Subsequent, and planned, trips with his family took him throughout Europe and even prolonged 11 year stay in the Caribbean.
Ed was always the "life of the party". He never met a stranger in his life and was a sucker for kids and animals.
Ed is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Tay Holly, his daughter Pam Smith, his son Bruce and Pam's husband Steve Smith. Ed was preceded in death by his sister Audrey and his beloved Grandson, Sean Smith.
